THE MINISTRY OF WATER REVIEWS THE OUTPUTS OF THE WATER COMMITTEE OF THE GOVERNMENT AND YOUTH PARLIAMENT PROJECT
Amman, Jan. 5 (Petra) – The Secretary-General of the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, Dr. Jihad Al Mahamid, briefed, today, Wednesday at the ministry’s headquarters, members of the Water and Irrigation Committee Sector in the Youth Government Project and the Youth Parliament at the Political Institute of the Ministry of Youth, about the programs and mechanism of the institute’s work, and the outputs of Members of the committee represented by the policy paper related to “the percentage of administrative water losses to the total losses.”
Mahamid stressed the role of youth in developing and building society in various fields, and put forward creative ideas and effective solutions to face challenges in these sectors, including the water sector.
During the meeting, which was attended by the Secretary-General of the Ministry of Youth, Dr. Hussein Jabour, participatory work programs were proposed between the various parties, and liaison officers were approved to facilitate the process of future cooperation between the Ministries of Water and Irrigation, Youth and the Political Institute.
Mahamid listened to a set of ideas and proposed solutions to reduce water losses, both administrative and technical, stressing the importance of the committee’s recommendations and the need to discuss and adopt them. He also valued the role of the security services and the judicial authorities and their cooperation with the Ministry of Water in enforcing the laws in force to protect water resources from pollution and abuse, controlling all related violations, and expanding the operations of controlling abuse and controlling all water resources in all regions of the Kingdom.
